E del Mundo is the recipient of the Philippine National Commission for Culture and the Arts’ Ani ng Dangal Award for Cinema and the Film Development Council of the Philippines' Film Ambassadorship. She backs up her youthful vigor with a pre-law degree from the prestigious De La Salle University in Manila, receiving the degree under the scholarship of her theatre organization, Harlequin. She later earned an MFA in Film, receiving the degree under the scholarship of venerated producer Brett Ratner (GRAVITY, WONDER WOMAN). While working at Studio Operations in Warner Bros., she was among the women selected for the Women in Film's Mentor Circle in Los Angeles. After moving back to the Philippines, she transitioned to becoming one of the most respected film executives in the country producing films like Sigrid Bernardo’s “Kita Kita” – the highest-grossing independent film in Philippine History, James Robin Mayo’s “Kuya Wes” (Fantasporto Int’l Film Festival, Shanghai Int’l Film Festival), Kim Tai Sik’s “Sunshine Family” (Philippine-Korean co-production) which won the Korean Drama Award of 2020, Filipino Auteur Lav Diaz’ “The Halt” which had its world premiere at the Director’s Fortnight in the 72nd Cannes Film Festival and was screened in Bogota, Viennale, Tokyo, Busan, Rotterdam, and Hong Kong. She recently premiered the first animated Netflix film from the Philippines: Avid Longren’s “Hayop ka!” which is historically the only Filipino film to compete at the prestigious Annecy International Animation Film Festival.
E del Mundo’s VR project as director/writer, “The Warship”, was the pioneering selection for the Biennale College Cinema-VR that culminated at the 74th Venice Film Festival. Her short film “Manong ng Pa-Aling” won Best Director at the 13th Cinemalaya Film Festival, Jury Prize at the 32nd Fribourg Int’l Film Festival, and was an official selection of Locarno Film Festival, ShortShorts Tokyo and ExGround Film Festival, among others. E is the showrunner and director of the internationally acclaimed LGBTQ++ dark comedy series “Manilennials”. Her first feature film project in development, “Sam” is delicately developed with the Singapore International Film Festival’s Southeast Asian Film Lab, APostLab, Full Circle Lab, and the prestigious Torino Film Lab where the project won the Focal Resource Award. The project was selected at the 2021 Open Doors Hub by the Locarno Film Festival where the script won the Sorfond Award and a developmental fund of 15,000 Swiss francs. “Sam” is the only Filipino project in the prestigious Cannes L’Atelier Cinefondation 2022.
E is an avid diver making sure the environment is discussed in her films. She is a member of SF Film Society, Women in Film, PADI, Shark Divers Association, and Filipinos in Film.
